Moulares

Moulares is a small town in the hilly landscape of the southwest Tunisian governorate of Gafsa. With its geographical closeness to Algeria and the jobs it offers in the phosphate mines the town of Moulares attracts people from various Tunisian regions.

Centre of Moulares

Like the town of Redeyef, Moulares is connected by a freight-railway-line to the coastal town of Sfax where the mined phosphate is transported to. A great part of the town’s residents belong to the Ūlǟd Nāṣir tribe, whose descendants have lived there for a long time.
